Domestic appliances and consumer electronics in the Netherlands
Article Abstract:
Sales of large domestic appliances grew 4.2% by value in the Netherlands to Fl 1,513 million in 1997, with the total consumer durables market growing 4.3%, the best rate of growth since 1991. Sales of personal computing equipment grew 23% by value to Fl 3.47 billion, while sales of audio visual equipment grew around 3% to Fl 5.4 billion in 1997. Sales of built-in domestic appliances are increasing in line with growing demand for built-in kitchens. Sales of telephone and personal computing equipment are expected to grow by about 15% a year, with large domestic appliance sales also expected to be buoyant.
