Union Carbide's net falls 53%
Article Abstract:
Union Carbide Corp. posted a decline of 53% in its earnings for the second-quarter of 1999. The company posted the decline despite the fact that it saw a $9 million (8.6 million euros) after-tax payment from a legal settlement. The financial boost could not offset Union Carbide's weak prices and increasing costs for feedstock. The company posted $56 million in net income for the period.
