Longbows night flying again
Article Abstract:
The US Army's fleet of Apache Longbow helicopters has been allowed to continue with their night-time flight training courses. The restriction, imposed in Mar 2000, after the failure of a generator component, affected a total of about 80 Army aircraft. The resumption of night-time training, which still carry the precaution that the aircraft must not fly lower than 100 ft from the nearest object, has been ordered after concerns were raised regarding pilot readiness capabilities.
