Legal action has been launched against Portugal by the European Union (EU) for not terminating a government veto on Banco Santander Central Hispano's planned acquisition of 40% of the Champalimaud Group. The EU claims the veto violates open crossborder business rules.

BSCH completes Banespa takeover
