Research shows that children who participate in preschool education do better socially and academically than those who do not and the younger the children start the more difference it makes. Britain is considering providing more preschool education and making attendance more mandatory.

Education policy in Great Britain is sorely in need of reform, but as usual the political parties are very much divided as to what needs to be done. A Tory plan to privatize the school inspectorate is ridiculous, but educational standards are in need of accountability.
