Eastern Europe hesitates

Gradualists in Eastern Europe are wrong in believing that slow progress towards a market economy is less risky than quick reforms. Businesses that remain under state control would continue to suffer losses. Mass privatization in Poland is failing because the government adopted gradualist practices.

Eastern Europe's diasporas: the homecoming
Article Abstract:
Many refugees from Eastern Europe are set to return following the end of the cold war era. Poland has one of the largest and oldest diasporas, and Ukraine and Armenia are also welcoming the return of refugees. So far, few Russian exiles have returned.
