Eating right and loving it: a question of balance
Article Abstract:
A consensus appears to be evolving among nutritional scientists that a proper balance in a diet is much more important than any particular strict regimen, and that healthy eating is primarily the result of striking that balance. Of the three main components of the diet of people throughout the world (protein, fat and carbohydrate) protein appears to take care of itself when the balance between carbohydrate and fat is met, fat should be reduced (although the kinds of fat to be cut and the levels to which they should be cut are still hotly debated), and carbohydrate has switched from being considered a villain to being seen as central to healthy eating, particularly when eaten along with its natural casing. The key is finding the fat-carbohydrate balance.

Medicine's cultural hang-ups
Article Abstract:
Multinational managers need to be aware of different national attitudes towards medicine because it may affect methods of treatment. For example, the German medical establishment is focused on heart disease, while the The US medical establishment is more likely to operate on patients and to order diagnostic tests. National differences persist because only approximately 15% of treatment is backed up by good scientific evidence, and 60% of treatment is for the purpose of convincing patients that they are being treated and made healthy.
