The Bay looks to boutiques, brands

The Bay department store chain intends to create new private brands to attract former customers that have been snatched by rival Sears Canada Inc. The Bay will ultimately launch 50 to 60 new suburban formats called Express outlets that will offer fast service and extra convenience. CEO Marc Chouinard said his company is also considering other plans that will return it to profitability within 18 months. Among these are the addition of specialty boutiques and more event-based promotions.

Motorcycle brand resurgence planned
Article Abstract:
Indian Motorcycle Co of Toronto, Ontario, is planning to revive the Indian Motorcycle brand, following its victory in a trademark dispute in the US. The company will begin with the opening of the Indian Motorcycle Cafe & Lounge in Toronto. The establishment will allow customers to dine, dance and shop at the boutique as well as enjoy a display of vintage Indian Motorcycles. In addition, the company will also introduce a 1999 Limited Edition Indian Chief motorcycle.
