Egypt wants AH-64D
Article Abstract:
Egypt is planning to purchase 35 AH-64A Apaches which it intends to upgrade to AH-64D standard without the Longbow fire control radar. The new machines would be added to Egypt's 36 A models. The proposal, valued at US$400 million, would include 35 Target Acquisition Designation Sights and Pilot Night Vision Sensors and two spare TADS systems. Egypt is requesting other spares and repair items, support equipment, relevant publications and technical documentation.

Bombardier and Sikorsky team
Article Abstract:
Bombardier is teaming up with Lockheed Martin Canada and Sikorsky Aircraft Corp to develop the S-92 as the Sea King replacement for the Armed Forces of Canada. Lockheed Martin will handle the integration of the mission system while Bombardier will be responsible for the completions phase including installation of the interior and mission equipment, final acceptance and delivery. The aircraft has passed the 300 flight-hour mark in its test program.

Indian Sea King parts released
Article Abstract:
India is waiting for the return of at least two navy Westland Sea King that it sent to Britain for maintenance before the US imposed sanctions as a reaction to India's underground nuclear tests in May 1998. According to UK's Defence Secretary, the US may end its sanctions on spare parts for the Indian navy's Sea King helicopters. The UK expects the matter to be resolved in a matter of weeks after using its influence with the US.
