Periodical publishing company Gruner and Jahr USA Publishing Co., a U.S. unit of Germany's Bertelsmann AG, has been plagued by failed titles and corporate infighting at its executive level. Former Gruner and Jahr executive Daniel Brewster, was let go from the company following allegations that he had been involved in falsifying circulation figures for the now-defunct magazine "Rosie." He has since launched a defamation suit against the company.
