Endesa's net profit drops 40% on absence of year-earlier gains
Article Abstract:
First-quarter net profit for electric utility Endesa S.A. fell 40% to $858 mil in comparison to last year's figures, which were boosted by Endesa's sale of its 5% stake in Grupo Auna S.A., a telecommunications firm. Sales fell 8.2% due to lower electricity prices and decreased generation by its European operations.
