Estimating the market shares of stores based on the shopper's search and purchase behavior

Article Abstract:

A model showing the shopper's search and purchase behavior is presented. It is observed that shoppers searching for a particular product visit larger stores first and if the cost of visiting is higher than the product price, they search fewer stores. However, if the price variation in the products is likely to be more then the shoppers tend to visit more shops.
