CASA hedges its bets both ways on Air 5190
Article Abstract:
Construcciones Aeronauticas SA (CASA) of Spain has decided to tender two bids for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Project Air 5190. The RAAF is in the process of selecting a light tactical aircraft to replace its fleet of DHC-4 Caribou short-haul transports. CASA has offered the RAAF both the C295 and the CN-235-300 transport aircrafts under separate bids. The C295 is a longer version of the C235 that is capable of carrying a load of as much as 9,000kgs while the CN-235-300 carries a load of 6,000kgs.

Brazil's EMB-145SA makes first flightt
Article Abstract:
Embraer S.A. has introduced is Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) EMB-145SA airfcraft and the EMB-315 Super Tucano-based ALX light strike aircraft. The EMB-145SA tested during the maiden flight was a structurally true mock-up of the platform while the ALX is an armed version of the Super Tucano with day/night operation, head-up display, Hands On Throttle And Stick operation, two central mission computers and two multifunction liquid crystal displays.
