Europe's rates may ease as growth outlook dims
Article Abstract:
The European Central Bank has maintained its key rate at 4% but officials acknowledge that interest-rate cuts are a possibility in the near future. The bank also implemented two injections, each for $87.74 bil, into three-month money market funds. The Bank of England, however, reduced its interest rate by one-quarter percentage point, bringing it to 5.25%.
