Approximation algorithms for k-unit cyclic solutions in robotic cells

A mathematical model to solve the problems involved in scheduling the manufacturing operations in bufferless robotic cells producing identical parts is presented. Optimal 1-unit cyclic solution, multi-unit cyclic solution and flexible manufacturing options are examined in relation thereto.
