Article Abstract:
The works in the 'Splendours of Imperial China: Treasures from the National Palace Museum' currently on a travelling exhibition in the US are almost unequaled in any other imperial collection of art. The exhibition held in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art is better lit and more approachable than in the Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan. Credit for the selections from the Palace collections goes to Princeton University Chinese art history professor Wen Fong who is changing the direction of Chinese art history in the US.
