SOFEMA LANDS EUROCOPTER PLAN ON FIPB TABLE

Sofema, a French aviation products promotion company, has filed an application with the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) for setting up a 100 percent subsidiary in India. It plans to distribute helicopter spare parts made by Eurocopter. The distribution centre will be set up at a cost of 2.25 million French francs and will be operational by early 1999. It will cater to the customers of Eurocopter in India. India has 14 Eurocopter customers. Eurocopter has 8.39 percent market share in the civil helicopter market in India. (rk)

FIPB CLEARS DELPHI PLAN TO HIKE EQUITY

Delphi Automative Systems Private Limited has been given permission to raise its equity from Rs285 crore to Rs450 crore by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board. It has planned further investment to add new assembly lines and expand operations. Delphi Automative Systems Private Limited plans to offer 15-20 percent of its common stock to the public in an initial offering in the first quarter of 1999. (khr)
