FRANCE/KOREA: KOREAN AIR UPS CAPACITY TO PARIS
Article Abstract:
Korean Air will be increasing its capacity between Paris and Seoul as from 30 March 2001. With its aim of bringing its service to one daily flight on this route in 2002, it expects a load factor of almost 100% during the next football World Cup, shared between South Korea and Japan. It is also in order to cope with fast development of the route, with some 30,000 French businessmen going to Korean every year. Korean Air will be thus increasing its capacity from 4 to 5 flights per week.

US: ANTI-TRUST IMMUNITY FOR AUA, LUFTHANSA, SAS
Article Abstract:
The US Department of Transportation (DOT) has granted Anti-Trust Immunity to Star Alliance partners Austrian Airlines (AUA), United Airlines, Lufthansa and SAS. Thanks to the status, the airlines can co-ordinate routes and schedules, marketing, advertising and distribution networks and co-operate in code sharing. Thus AUA expects to gain more passengers on its trans-Atlantic routes.
