Nestle's La Laitiere has launched individual servings of fruit fried in batter in cherry or pear varieties. These are packaged in packs of four 85-gram cups, have a 21-day use-by date, and a recommended sales price of FFr 13.95. La Laitiere has launched a television advertising campaign as well as an on-pack promotional offer of a FFr 2 reduction on the next purchase. The dessert market posted a 23% rise at 31 July 2000.

Solo Italia has introduced Foret Noire in the chilled dairy product segment. The principal innovation is that the chocolate sponge cake is coated with cherry sauce with whole fruit. The recommended sales price is FFr 14.50 for two 100-gram units.
