Aeronavale faces multirole challenge ..
Article Abstract:
The French Navy has yet to decide what operational crew concept would be best for its planned fleet of 60 Dassault Rafale M multirole fighter aircraft. Rear Adm Louis De Contenson, flag officer for naval aviation, says it remains unclear if all Rafale pilots can be trained for multirole operations, so that the aircraft's capabilities can be exploited to the fullest. De Contenson adds that it would be asking too much from the pilots to be trained for air-to-ground roles such as day/night all-weather strike and reconnaissance missions.
