For Deutsche Telekom, times grow ever leaner

Deutsche Telekom AG of Germany has revised its financial projections for operating profit to 19 billion Euros ($24.5 billion) for 2007 and revenue estimate for 2006 are down to 61.3 billion Euros. Sales for 2007 are forecast to rise only slightly. Increasing competition in the telecommunications industry is stress on the market causing Deutsche Telekom AG to increase investments and lower prices.

BT's retail group expects increase in annual profit

BT Group PLC of the United Kingdom is forecasting greater earnings this fiscal year due to a strong performance by it's subsidiary BT Retail. Telefonica's profit soars: Spanish telecom lifts 2007 growth targets for revenue, income

Second-quarter net profit for Spain's Telefonica SA more than doubled, reaching 2.57 bil euro, with revenue rising by 6.5% to reach 14.08 bil euro. The firm upped its full-year fiscal targets for operating income from between 6% to 9% to between 8% and 10%, and for revenue growth from between 8% to 11% to between 10% and 13%.
