Ford, Mazda seen preparing to build plant for pickups
Article Abstract:
Ford Motor Co. and Mazda Motor Corp. began a feasibility study in Aug. 1994 to determine the prospects of building a pick-up truck manufacturing facility in Thailand. However, officials from both companies refused to confirm the plan for the 100,000 truck facility, stating that study will only be completed in Jul. 1995. Analysts noted that Thailand is an ideal location for such a facility since the country is the largest auto market in Southeast Asia.
