France: Carrefour franchisees' savings plan
Article Abstract:
Carrefour, the French retail group, is going to offer its 2,500 Champion, Shopi, Marche Plus, '8 a Huit,' and Carrefour franchisees an intercompany savings plan which will concern about 30,000 employees. The franchisees are free to join or not, and to set a level of agreed supplementary payment. The product offers the same advantages as the standard savings plans - tax-exempt capital gains after they are blocked for five years, and a possible additional amount from the company.
