France Telecom approved to offer new net service

France Telecom SA's proposed Internet access over current telephone lines has been approved by the government of France. France Telecom is planning to offer rapid Internet service with flat-rate tariffs that could bring about greater usage of the Internet. The company is planning to offer asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) service to six Paris neighborhoods and three towns which are located nearby.
