GERMANY: THE OBJECTIVES OF INTERMARCHE
Article Abstract:
In Germany, Intermarche has launched a number of new products (from both Intermarche and from its subsidiaries), notably cereal-based products (the Geniality brand), rice (Marti), Italian products (Fiorini), ice-creams (Adelie) and canned fish (Capitaine Cook). These brands will be stocked at Eurospar. Les Mousquetaires have decided to regroup all their 1,000m[superscript two]-5,000m[superscript two] sales outlets under the Eurospar name. This decision follows the sale of Interspar to Walt-Mart. For the Mousquetaires, 1999 will be the year for the consolidation of their European development, a process that will be begun on the 15 April 1999 with the first international meeting of all the management teams within the retail network. This meeting will take place at the Parc de Treville, the group's new headquarters.
