GOVT NOTIFIES AUTOMATIC ROUTE FOR 100% FDI IN ROADS, PORTS
Article Abstract:
On January 5, 1998, the Government of India notified that the automatic route for foreign direct investments (FDI) in the roads and ports projects is 100 percent. The permission of the Foreign Investment Promotion Board is not necessary for investment in these sectors. The Government has fixed the ceiling of $353 million for such investments. Projects for construction and maintenance of roads, highways, vehicular bridges, toll roads, vehicular tunnels, ports and harbours are included in the automatic route for foreign direct investments in India. GARGESHWARI MULLS UNIT NEAR MYSORE
Article Abstract:
Gargeshwari Sugar Mills Private Limited (GSMPL) is establishing a sugar factory at T Narsipur taluk in Mysore district. The factory will have a capacity of 200 tonnes per day. The plant is being set up at a cost of Rs4 crore. The plant will crush around 20,000 tonnes of cane per annum. The project will be partly funded by KSIIDC and Vijaya Bank. Crushing operations will commence from May 1999. (ag)
