GOVT PLANS ECB ROUTE FOR PSUs TO RAISE Rs5,482 CR
Article Abstract:
The Government of India proposes to mobilise Rs548.02 crore during 1998-99 through the external commercial borrowing (ECB) route (Rs4,278.79 crore raised in 1997-98). The Finance Ministry of the Government of India has fixed the ECB limit at Rs38,000 crore for 1998-99. The Government expects the corporates and financial institutions to net Rs32,500 crore through the ECB route in 1998-99. MAHARASHTRA GOVT PLANS TO RAISE Rs2,000 CR THROUGH DEBT MARKET
Article Abstract:
The Maharashtra government plans to enter the debt market to mobilise Rs2,000 crore during 1998-99. The proceeds of loans will be utilised to undertake core projects through several state government corporations. The government plans to raise Rs500 crore of loan each time it enters the debt market. The Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation, Tapi Valley Irrigation Development Corporation and Godavari Irrigation Development Corporation, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran and Godavari Irrigation Development Corporation are expected to benefit from the programme.
