Capable of accommodating 94 personnel in addition to the 139 crew members, the EGVs are also designed to store and handle 42 containers of 40ft or 84 for 20ft containers. The vessels are equipped with two replenishment-at-sea (RAS) stations for liquids and dry stores, and a stern-to-bow RAS station for fuel, as well as a weapon system that includes four Rheinmetall 20mm guns and two Stinger launchers. Each EGVcan also operate and retain up to two King-sized helicopters for vertical replenishment, anti-submarine warfare or landing operations.
