EU Commission launches probe of Holzmann aid

Germany's proposal to provide financial aid for struggling Philipp Holzmann AG is being investigated by the European Commission (EC). The probe will delay the payment of about 250 million marks (127.8 million euros) for the firm. The payment will be held up until the EC makes a decision.
