Good company: incorporation
Article Abstract:
There are advantages to operating an architectural practice as a limited company. Each company must decide on the merits of incorporation. A company can be bought off-the-shelf and the name altered if necessary. There must be a statement of objectives and Articles of Association. A number of issues may arise, including the need for new stationery, the problem of wrongful trading, the need for a suitably qualified company secretary, and the opportunity to issue new contracts to staff with a review of their conditions of service and pension arrangements.
