Government plans to liberalize the legal industry
Article Abstract:
The Singaporean government is planning to open its legal service market to foreign law firms, in an effort to bolster its image as Asia's primary financial hub. Proponents of the plan believe that increasing the foreign competition of the legal services market would not only expand the level of legal services offered to clients, but also generate additional financial resources as well. One of the possible means of achieving such an end is by fostering partnership with offshore law firms.
