GrandMet sells local foods to focus on global brands
Article Abstract:
Grand Metropolitan, an alcoholic drinks and foods marketer, is planning to sell its national food brands in Europe to concentrate on its international brands. It has already sold Erasco of Germany, a canned ready meals and soups company, to Campbell Soup, and other businesses to be sold including Shippams, Memory Lane Cakes and Fleur de Lys in the UK. The company is also planning to change its name to Pillsbury Europe, and will relocate its headquarters in the UK from France.

Nestle, Coke reserve trains for their marketing
Article Abstract:
Nestle is one of several European companies using railroads for product marketing. Nestle is offering a free breakfast on morning trains in France in collaboration with train operator SNCF. The breakfast will include coffee, cereal, yogurt, chocolate and fruit juice. Similarly, brewer San Miguel of Spain is promoting its Ice Beer on a Valles Oriental line carriage over two years. Portugal Coca-Cola is also using a train for marketing purposes.
