'Open skies' trade negotiations between the United States and the European Union continue today. The United States is looking for American airplane services at Heathrow and the reduction of global trade barriers in the airlines industry. The United States is willing to allow more influence by foreign investors in American airline interests.

France proposes a limited term on shoe tariffs

The European Union is deadlocked over tariffs for inexpensive shoe imports from Asia. France has proposed a shortened time-frame for punitive duties. The current tariff proposal would charge 16.5 percent on Chinese shoe imports and ten percent on Vietnamese shoe imports.
