Hope for Chechnya
Article Abstract:
Russian hostilities with Chechnya are scheduled to end on May 31, 1996. If successful, the peace agreement should help Boris Yeltsin in his reelection bid and be a welcome relief for both Russia and Chechnya. It is thought that Yeltsin has agreed to independence for Chechnya if voters support it.
