Hurdles await U.S. bid for sanctions against Iran

The United States is seeking international sanctions and has reached an agreement to report Iran to the United Nations Security Council. Iran may be developing nuclear weapons inside the auspices of a nuclear energy program. The interpretation of the agreement differed for Russian, European Union and United States officials raising the possibility of debate on what action the United Nations Security Council may take.
