IDFC EXTENDS Rs75-CRORE LOAN TO BHARTI TELENET
Article Abstract:
The Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) has sanctioned a loan of Rs75 crore to Bharti Telenet for its basic telecom project in Madhya Pradesh. The company has issued non- convertible debentures (NCDs) to IDFC at an interest rate of 14 percent on pure project risk. The NCDs are payable in equal installments over a period of 8 years after a moratorium of three and a half years. The company has also been given a loan of Rs250 crore by the Industrial Development Bank of India and Rs125 crore by the State Bank of India for the project. (khr)

MILAN MINERALS PLANS Rs75 Cr EXPANSION

Milan Minerals Pvt Ltd (MMPL) has received approval from the Karanataka government to increase its investment to expand ferro-alloy plant at Hassan by Rs75 crore. MMPL is currently in the process of setting up a Rs60 crore ferro-alloy plant at Hassan. Its first plant will begin its operation by 2002-03 AD while the second phase of the project is expected to begin by 2005 AD. Its second plant will be funded through internal accruals.(gs)

JINDAL STEEL & POWER TO INVEST Rs75 CR IN RAIGARH PLANT

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd has decided to invest Rs75 crore in its Raigarh unit in order to complete an expansion programme. Funds for the expansion are to be generated mainly through internal accruals. The company plans to become the biggest coal-based sponge iron unit in the world ad is implementing various steps to become competitive and cost effective by reducing input costs, using better technology and producing value-added products.
