IDG slates $1 billion investment for the Internet sector
Article Abstract:
International Data Group (IDG) of Boston, MA, is planning to invest $1 billion in venture capital on Chinese Internet firms prior to 2005. The move, which makes China the company's biggest investment target, commits two-thirds of the information technology publishing and management firm's worldwide venture-capital funding for the succeeding seven years. IDG's founder, Patrick J. McGovern, is confident that China will be the next hotbed for Internet firms.
