ISRAEL
Article Abstract:
The French Trade Commission in Tel Aviv carried out a 35 survey of the pharmaceutical market in Israel. In 1997, this pharmaceutical market made a turnover of US$ 710mn, from 40 manufacturers while medication imports came to US$ 353mn. The French companies, which are not very present on the market, enjoy a good image in the medical domain, particularly for vaccines. Since the medical system was reorganised in 1995, the Israelis can change their medical insurance fund two times a year. This situation leads to competition between service providers, who seek to increase the number of their subscribers and the government subsidies.
