ISRO READYING INSAT-3B
Article Abstract:
The Indian Space Research Organisation is getting Insat-3B ready for launch later in 1999 while Insat-2E, the last of the second generation satellites in the Insat series, is scheduled to be launched on April 3, 1999. The launch of Insat-3B will precede that of Insat-3A, the first of the third generation satellites, so that the extended C-band capacity of the Insat system can quickly be augmented. Insat-3B will provide fixed satellite service in extended C-band and KU-bands and mobile satellite services in S-band. (khr)
