Implementation of the centroid method of Solymosi and Dombi

Article Abstract:

The formulation of a technique for implementing Solymosi and Dombi's centroid method, a multiple objective decision support system, is described. Usage of the centroid of bounded weights method, which uses ordinal information is further compared with the more conventional analytic hierarchy process (AHP), which uses ratio estimates of pairwise comparisons, for accuracy in an experiment on student job selection decision. Results show a slight but insignificant decrease in accuracy relative to the AHP-based method.

Multi-parametric analysis of the maximum tolerance in a linear programming problem

Article Abstract:

An alternative technique for multi-parametric sensitivity analysis of linear programming problems using maximum volumes in the tolerance region is evaluated. The Maximum Volume Region (MVR) defines the tolerance region as a symmetrically rectangular parallelepiped with maximum volume while its extension (EMVR) relaxes the bounded regions. The MVR and EMVR parameters are shown to be focal regions which can be easily controlled independently and simultaneously.

The extension of the multicriteria decision paradigm to the heuristic search domain is discussed in a systematic way. New procedures like multiobjective, multiattribute, goal satisfaction and lexicographic search are analyzed and presented for multicriteria decision rules.
