Hotels in Shanghai's Puxi district, which contains many attractions and historical sites, are competing with the more modern Pudong district hotels, which are closer to corporate and banking headquarters. The Grand Hyatt Shanghai (on floors 53-87 of a skyscraper), the St. Regis Shanghai and the Pudong Shangri-La are among the more modern and pricey hotels in the Pudong district.
