Relations between France and Britain have been strained at times, and some sniping between the two countries has arisen as the result of Hoover PLC transferring jobs from France to Scotland. Diplomats of the two nations insist however that relations are excellent.

Article Abstract:
The English Channel tunnel or Chunnel opened in Nov 1994 and now claims 55% of traffic between London and Paris. Although the tunnel has made travel easier and quicker, the English and French still maintain a disdain for each other, despite their close proximity.
