In praise of Saint Timmy
Article Abstract:
The TDL Group, the licensing company for Tim Hortons coffee and donuts franchise has retained its top ranking among Canada's 100 foodservice companies, posting an income of C$1.603 billion in 1999, C$1.26 billion more than its closest competitor. Tim Horton's status as an all-Canadian icon was not diminished even after TDL was acquired by Wendy's International. Hortons has captured a 13% market share of Canada's fastfood sector and is expected to overcome McDonald's Restaurants in total revenues by 2001.
