India refocuses its efforts to spark tourism industry
Article Abstract:
India's natural beauty and ancient civilization makes it one of the most interesting places in the world but natural disasters, peace and order problems, lack of accommodations and poor public relations have so far hobbled the country's tourism industry. Analysts believe that tourism can be a major source of income for the country if it is developed properly. The Indian government has recognized this and an ambitious program has been undertaken to boost tourism but many observers still believe things are progressing too slowly.

Armed with strong currencies, tourists from Asia shop until they drop in U. S
Article Abstract:
The plummeting value of the US dollar has made the US a favorite shopping destination for many Asian tourists. Travelers from Japan, Malaysia and other countries with sharply appreciating currencies are simply amazed at what they perceive to be extremely low prices for US goods. For example, Japanese shoppers cannot help but spend $44 on shoes which would cost over $200 in Tokyo. Asian newlyweds are also finding honeymoon vacations to the US extremely attractive in view of their low cost.
