Information theoretic framework for process control
Article Abstract:
An information theoretic process control framework for standardizing and expanding the scope of statistical process control methods is developed. The framework can develop signal-charting procedures for monitoring moments without making distributional assumptions. Various monitoring problems can also be addressed in a unified manner using a single criterion function. The development of an information mean-variance chart is discussed.

An information-theoretic two-stage, two-decision rule, choice model
Article Abstract:
A minimum discrimination information (MDI) scheme was developed to relate the two stages of a decision process. The MDI approach can use proportions as direct input for the approximation of the simultaneous compensatory models. A two-stage, two-decision rule model was subsequently constructed. It has an attribute processing structure in the first stage and a simultaneous compensatory processing structure in the second stage.

Adjustment of importance weights in multiattribute value models by minimum discrimination information
Article Abstract:
A framework for adjusting the weights of multiattribute additive value (MAV) models using an information-theoretic approach is discussed. MAV models are essential tools in decision analysis. The approach specifically applies the Minimum Discrimination Information allocation procedure in adjusting the importance of weights. Two illustrative approaches provided are the ranking of US metro cities and car purchasing.
