Ingram Micro shares fall 31% as CEO says he'll quit

Ingram Micro Inc.'s share value declined by 31% following the announcement that its chief executive officer Jerre Stead will resign. Ingram Micro's earnings for the third-quarter of 1999 are expected to be much lower-than-expected. The company blamed the low earnings on difficult market conditions in the US, competitive prices, and lower vendor rebates and incentives.
