Japan will buy 1.96 billion euros in debt in Sogo bankruptcy

The Deposit Insurance Corp. of Japan said it would purchase 197.6 billion yen (1.96 billion euros) worth of loans given to Sogo Co. by Shinsei Bank. Deposit Insurance also said that it would forgo 97 billion yen of the debt.
