Inspection games in arms control
Article Abstract:
There were three phases of development in the application of inspection game mathematical models to arms control and disarmament. The first phase involved research on inspecting a nuclear test ban treaty which focused more on game theory rather than on the statistical aspects. The second phase was related with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons where the verification concept of material accountancy was the focus. The third phase was focused on the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Agreement, the Treaty on Conventional Forces in Europe and the Chemical Weapons Convention.
