Bayerische Vita to launch IPO Monday in Milan

Bayerische Vita SpA said 19.5 million shares or 26% interests will be sold through an initial public offering and a private placement intended for institutional shareholders. The Italian insurer hopes to be able to generate between 195 billion lire and 224 billion lire ($108.8 million and $124.9 million) from the IPO. Proceeds from the sale will be used to expand Bayerische's sales team. The 19.5 million shares may be priced between 10,000 lire and 11,500 lire ($5.58 and $6.41) but the final share price will launched Sunday. Bayerische hopes to start trading on the Milan Stock Exchange July 21 after the IPO.

Cariplo launches new pension line with two funds

Cassa di Risparmio delle Province Lombarde (Cariplo) is launching a new pension product through the pension funds, called Previd-System and Carime Previdenza. The bank touts its new funds to be the only one to have the necessary authorizations from the independent pension-fund regulator of Italy, the Commissione di Vigilanza sui Fondi Pensione, and the country's financial-markets regulator. The open-pension funds, which are being offered by Cariplo's mutual fund arm, Fondigest, are available to everyone, although they are targeted to self-employed individuals.
