JAL alters cookie policy
Article Abstract:
Japan Airlines (JAL) has ceased serving meals to majority of its first-class domestic customers on the week of Sep. 29, 1998, and gave away cookies instead. In its economy flights, the airline has also stopped serving its passengers cookies. JAL stated that the decision to eliminate free meals is the part of its efforts to save 265 million yen ($2 million) annually. Company spokesman Geoff Tudor stated that JAL has no qualms of allowing passengers to bring their own food, adding that the airline has established a central cookie center in Tokyo, Japan.

Canadian town transformed
Article Abstract:
Niagara-on-the-Lake is being transformed from a small town into a major tourist attraction with Si Wai Lai's acquisition of tourist-related businesses in the town. Townsfolk are worried that Jimmy Lai's sister is beginning to become influential in the town and may eventually end up tarnishing the cultural heritage of the town. Ms. Lai however, maintains that she has no intentions of changing the town's cultural heritage and that she only hopes to improve the town's tourism industry.

Jaipur, India is now renowned for its cotton fabrics and blue pottery in addition to its jewels. Cotton clothing and furnishings under the Anokhi label, although exported worldwide, are 75% cheaper when bought in India.
